Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Counties Manukau is seeking a neonatologist to provide specialist clinical services across both acute and non-acute neonatal care within the Kidz First Neonatal Unit at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland. The unit offers Level 3 intensive care and Level 2 special care with a strong emphasis on research and teaching.

Qualifications

• Be registered or eligible for vocational registration with paediatric scope.
• Echocardiography experience preferred.
• Familiarity with research practice.
• Proven ability or competence in working with Maaori, Pacific and culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Intensive Care (level 3) roster, currently one week in seven.
• Participate in Special Baby Care (level 2) and postnatal ward roster, currently one week in seven.
• Participate in neonatal outpatient clinic work.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate training.
• Contribute to the supervision of Registrars/Fellows.
