Job summary

Kidz First, Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland is seeking a Neonatologist to join one of Aotearoa New Zealand's largest neonatal units, providing Level 3 intensive and Level 2 special care services and contributing to a strong research program.

The role covers acute and non-acute neonatal care with options for part-time hours now and potential to grow to full-time, plus involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and registrar supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for vocational registration with a paediatric scope of practice (Medical Council of NZ).
• Echocardiography experience preferred.
• Familiarity with research practice.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Maaori, Pacific and culturally diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Intensive Care (level 3) roster (one week in seven).
• Participate in the Special Baby Care (level 2) and postnatal ward rosters (one week in seven).
• Participate in neonatal outpatient clinic work and neonatal care call-back roster.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate training.
• Contribute to supervision of Registrars/Fellows.
