Job summary

Kidz First Neonatal Unit in Counties Manukau, Health NZ, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical leadership and advanced neonatal care for babies and their whaanau. This permanent, full-time role supports Level II/III services at Middlemore Hospital and Kidz First.

You will assess, diagnose and treat neonates, prescribe medicines, and mentor junior staff while strengthening partnerships with maternity services, community midwives and primary care teams.

Qualifications

• NZ Nurse Practitioner Registration is essential.
• Current Annual Practising Certificate required.
• Minimum 5 years of neonatal nursing experience in NZ.
• Strong knowledge of neonatal medicine and professional issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultancy and clinical leadership in line with NP competencies.
• Assess, diagnose and treat neonates, prescribing medicines as needed.
• Mentor CNS and RN colleagues and work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strengthen partnerships with child health services, midwives and primary care.
• Collaborate with Neonatal and maternity services across Kidz First and Womens Health.
