The New Zealand Government is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Neonatal for North Shore Hospital. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on neonatal care and contribute to the well-being of our community. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

As a Nurse Practitioner in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), you will work independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality clinical care for neonates and their families. Applicants must have a current New Zealand nursing certificate and a Masters in Nursing.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current New Zealand annual practising certificate.
  • Nurse Practitioner approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), working both independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to promote health, prevent disease, and diagnose, assess, and manage the health needs of neonates and their whānau. Ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, high‑value clinical care is paramount, as is utilising your advanced skills and knowledge to provide invaluable team support and demonstrate neonatal leadership.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RGON, RCpN, RPN, BHSc) with current New Zealand annual practising certificate.
  • Masters in Nursing with advanced assessment diagnostic reasoning skills papers, including prescribing practicum.
  • Nurse Practitioner as approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
