Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Principal Advisor - Maintenance who will shape national maintenance strategies and standards. You will work with regional teams, asset owners and engineering specialists to improve asset reliability and service continuity across a diverse infrastructure portfolio.

The role emphasises evidence-based decision making, continuous improvement, and the translation of complex technical information into clear business insights that support better health

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Infrastructure Management, Maintenance Management or related discipline.
• Significant experience in maintenance strategy and asset management within a complex organisation.
• Experience developing and implementing maintenance frameworks across multiple sites or regions.
• Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning and infrastructure performance improvement.
• Ability to analyse technical information and provide evidence-based advice to senior leaders.
• Experience developing reports, business cases or performance insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, standards and frameworks across Health NZ.
• Analyse performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and support evidence-based decision making.
• Collaborate with regional infrastructure teams, asset owners and service providers.
• Contribute to nationally consistent maintenance practices to improve asset reliability and service continuity.
