Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Principal Advisor - Maintenance to lead national maintenance strategy development, standards, and improvement initiatives. You will partner with regional teams and asset owners to translate complex data into practical insights that drive reliability and service continuity.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Infrastructure Management or related discipline.
• Significant experience in maintenance strategy, engineering services, asset management, facilities management or infrastructure management within a complex organisation.
• Experience developing and implementing maintenance frameworks, standards, strategies or improvement initiatives across multiple sites or regions.
• Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, maintenance optimisation and infrastructure performance improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse technical information and provide clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Experience developing reports, business cases, performance insights or assurance documentation.
• Strong relationship management, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, standards, frameworks and improvement initiatives to support the National Maintenance Strategy.
• Analyse performance data, identify opportunities for improvement and support evidence-based decision making.
• Collaborate with regional infrastructure teams, asset owners and service providers to promote nationally consistent maintenance practices.
• Contribute to a portfolio across diverse infrastructure to strengthen maintenance capability and asset performance.
