Job summary

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking a Contract Manager – Professional Services for a six-month parental leave cover in the National Contracts team. The role involves managing a portfolio of professional services contracts, including MSQA, Environmental Planning and Independent Certifier services, with regional collaboration and national oversight.

You will act as Principal’s Representative under Consultancy Contract Conditions, coordinating with local teams and suppliers to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Experience administering professional services, consultancy, infrastructure or similar contracts.
• Ability to read, understand and apply contract documents and follow defined processes.
• Experience preparing professional correspondence, contract notices, service orders and variations.
• Strong administration skills, attention to detail and reliable record-keeping.
• Coordinate multiple activities, approvals and deadlines with process discipline.
• Proactive, self-directed approach with limited supervision.
• Collaborative work with local NZTA teams, suppliers and technical specialists.

Responsibilities

• Administer professional services contracts per Consultancy Contract Conditions and NZTA requirements.
• Prepare contractual correspondence, including notices, service orders and variations.
• Assess payment information and maintain records of approvals, expenditures and changes.
• Coordinate with regional teams on programmes and resource requirements.
• Onboard suppliers and ensure timely resource allocation and onboarding.
