Job summary

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking a Contract Manager – Professional Services for six months to cover parental leave in the National Contracts team. You will manage a varied portfolio of professional services contracts, supporting maintenance delivery under the Integrated Delivery Model.

You will work across NZ, building relationships with local NZTA teams and suppliers, ensuring contracts are followed, records kept and commercial processes stay on track.

Qualifications

• experience administering professional services, consultancy, infrastructure or similar contracts
• ability to read, understand and apply contract documents
• experience preparing professional correspondence, notices, service orders or variations
• strong administration and record-keeping skills
• ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines

Responsibilities

• administer professional services contracts per contract conditions and NZTA requirements
• prepare clear contractual correspondence and notices
• assess payment information and maintain records of approvals and changes
• coordinate with local NZTA teams to understand programmes and resource needs
• coordinate supplier availability and onboarding of resources
• monitor contract expenditure and support value-for-money decisions
• maintain communication with suppliers and stakeholders and escalate issues
• identify risks and support timely mitigation
• monitor supplier performance and coordinate improvements
• maintain complete and audit-ready contract records
• coordinate monthly cost, progress, risks and performance reporting
• identify and implement improvements to strengthen performance and efficiency
