NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi seeks a Contract Manager – Professional Services for six months to cover parental leave in the National Contracts team. You will own a portfolio of professional services contracts supporting maintenance delivery under the Integrated Delivery Model and coordinate resources across the motu.

You will build relationships with local NZTA teams and suppliers, maintain contract records, and apply sound commercial judgement to sustain value-for-money across projects.

Formación

• Experience administering professional services, consultancy, infrastructure or similar contracts.
• Ability to read, understand and apply contract documents and processes.
• Experience preparing professional correspondence, notices, service orders and variations.
• Strong administration skills and meticulous record-keeping.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities, deadlines and approvals.
• Proactive, self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Confidence working with local NZTA teams, suppliers and technical specialists.
• Understanding of procurement, value-for-money requirements, or ability to learn quickly.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn Te Ao Māori, tikanga and te reo Māori in the public service.

Responsabilidades

• Administer professional services contracts per Consultancy Contract Conditions and NZTA requirements.
• Prepare contractual correspondence, notices and variations.
• Assess payment information and maintain records of approvals and changes.
• Coordinate with local NZTA teams on programmes and resource needs.
• Onboard suitably qualified resources and manage supplier availability.
• Monitor contract expenditure and support value-for-money decisions.
• Maintain structured communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate delivery, resource and procurement risks.
• Monitor supplier performance and coordinate improvements.
• Maintain complete, audit-ready contract records.
• Coordinate monthly cost, progress and risk reporting.
• Identify practical improvements to contract performance and efficiency.
