Job summary

Beca in Auckland is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Applied Technology team on high‑stakes, embedded and real-time systems across defence, aviation, and other regulated sectors. You will work on the full systems engineering lifecycle, integrating hardware and software to deliver robust, mission‑critical solutions.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, document designs, and support delivery from requirements through to deployment, with opportunities to grow technical leadership

Qualifications

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this role.
• Applicants must hold New Zealand Citizenship or New Zealand Permanent Residency to be considered.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the engineering industry or a similar role.
• Ability to collaborate with clients and provide systems analysis to guide outcomes.
• Ability to document technical design and support project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded/mission-critical systems.
• Focus on integration and interoperability of systems.
• Define high-level problems and dive into low-level solutions to address real problems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Support project delivery within time and budget for mission-critical systems.
