Job summary

Northpower is seeking a Project Manager in New Plymouth to lead a diverse portfolio of projects from planning to delivery. You will ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality standards while managing safety, customer relationships and supplier coordination.

You will plan execution, manage risks, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to clients. This role emphasizes asset maintenance, defect rectification, and continuous improvement within a multi‑utility network.

• Coordinate labour, materials and resources with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to clients and stakeholders; complete project close-out reports.

About the Role:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leadingthe planning, estimation, execution, and successful delivery of a diverseportfolio of projects, including minor works, maintenance programmes, directsource and contestable works, and defect rectification and asset maintenanceactivities. You will manage projects from initial scoping through tocompletion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and tothe highest quality standards. Working closely with customers, contractors,suppliers, and internal teams, you will build strong relationships, coordinateresources, manage project risks and financial performance, and ensure customerexpectations are met while contributing to the ongoing success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible forpreparing accurate project estimates and quotations and managing projects fromplanning through to successful completion. You will coordinate all aspects ofproject delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget,and to the required quality standards. This includes developing project executionplans that cover health and safety, environmental, quality, communication, andrisk management requirements. You will oversee project budgets, forecasting,work in progress (WIP), invoicing, and financial reconciliation, while ensuringall work packs and project documentation are complete and accurate. Workingclosely with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, localauthorities, and customers, you will coordinate labour, materials, andresources to deliver projects efficiently. You will also monitor projectprogress, provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders, andcomplete project close-out reports, including lessons learned to supportcontinuous improvement.

An important aspect of this role is the management of defectrectification and maintenance work across the network. You will coordinate theinvestigation and resolution of customer and network defects, prioritizing

repairs based on safety, operational risk, and customer impact. You will planand manage both reactive and planned maintenance programmes, ensuring defectsare addressed within contractual service level agreements and companystandards. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of defectinvestigations, repairs, and maintenance activities, monitoring recurringissues, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and assetperformance. Working closely with field crews, you will ensure maintenance anddefect work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard whilemaintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
