Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Mental Health Technician II at Mease Hospital Dunedin. The role supports patient safety, therapeutic communication, and basic nursing tasks under RN direction. It involves evening shifts, full-time status, and a pool option.

Qualifications include a High School diploma; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 6 months psychology-based experience or a related degree. BLS is required; CNA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Mental Health Technician II - required 6 months psychology-based experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• CNA and/or BLS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Assists with physical care under the direction of an RN.
• Promotes coordination of the unit by completing orders and directing calls to the charge nurse.

Education

Mental Health Technician II Position Details:

• Facility: Mease Hospital Dunedin
• Location: Dunedin
• Status: Full time & Pool, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM or 6:45 Am - 7:15 PM
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician II Responsibilities:

• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
