Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Mental Health Technician for Mease Dunedin Hospital in Clearwater, FL. This full-time, on-site role supports psychiatric inpatient care with evening/night shifts and on-call arrangements.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, ongoing monitoring, and fostering therapeutic relationships. Required BLS; CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred; 6 months psychology-related experience or related degree is expected.

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• CNA or Patient Care Technician experience preferred.
• Experience: 6 months in Psychology or a related Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.
• Monitor and observe patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promote communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Mease Dunedin Hospital
• Location: Clearwater, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field -

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in related field-

Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
