Job summary

New Zealand Government’s Mental Health Act Administrator role in Takapuna offers part-time flexibility (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week) with base in Takapuna, supporting a range of clinical and governance teams across multiple stakeholders.

You will manage day-to-day processing of Mental Health Act documentation, ensure accurate recording of legislation, and work closely with DAMHS and external partners; strong communication and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an administration role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act is an advantage but training will be provided.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.

Mental Health Act Administrator - Special Mental Health and Addictions Services

Part-Time (0.6FTE) position available | 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday | Based in Takapuna

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day to day processing of the mental health act documentation

  • Work closely with clinical teams, Director of Area Mental Health Services (DAMHS) and external stakeholders
  • Liaise with clients, whānau, courts and legal representatives

Requirements
  • Proven experienced in an administration role
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act is an advantage, but not essential (full training will be provided)

  • have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential for this role
  • be computer literate, with an appetite for learning new skills and processes
