Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory team at Taranaki Base Hospital. In this 1.0 FTE role you will contribute to biochemistry, blood bank, haematology and microbiology testing across a 24/7 service, with rostered shifts including weekends.

The successful candidate will hold a qualification enabling MSCNZ registration, with preferred experience in phlebotomy, and a proven ability to work well in a collaborative team while

Qualifications

• Must hold a qualification enabling registration as Medical Laboratory Technician with MSCNZ.
• Experience with phlebotomy preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver diagnostic testing across biochemistry, blood bank, haematology and microbiology.
• Contribute to Point of Care Testing, Molecular Biology and Specimen Services.
• Rostered shifts including weekends and out-of-hours to support 24/7 service.
• Collaborate within a skilled laboratory team to support patient care.
