Job summary

Awanui Labs, part of Awanui Group, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to join our Core laboratory in Taranaki. This permanent full-time role (80 hours fortnightly) involves diagnostic testing in Haematology and Biochemistry, operating automated systems, and ensuring accurate results in line with standards.

You will work with a collaborative team, maintain quality assurance, and support patient care.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (NZMSC) and current Annual Practising Certificate are required.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing in Haematology and Biochemistry.
• Operate and maintain automated laboratory systems and equipment.
• Ensure accurate and reliable test results in line with laboratory standards.
• Follow quality assurance, safety and infection control procedures.
• Collaborate with the laboratory team to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
