Awanui Labs – Dunedin invites a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Haematology Department on a permanent full-time basis. You will contribute to routine haematology, coagulation and morphology testing, ensuring high-quality results and timely reporting in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with an Annual Practising Certificate.
• Willingness to work rostered shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret routine haematology, coagulation and morphology tests.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results in line with quality standards.
• Contribute to workflow organisation and help prioritise tasks to meet service requirements.
• Participate in internal and external quality control programmes.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and report any issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow established laboratory processes and quality systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Keep up to date with developments in haematology and maintain professional standards.
