Job summary

Waikato Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join the General Radiology theatre team. After four weeks of training, you will rotate 50/50 between theatre and general roster, providing imaging in trauma, inpatients, and outpatients.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and report to the Theatre MIT Unit Charge. Registrations and APC are required, with a focus on high-quality patient care and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Imaging Technologist Board (MRTB).
• Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Clinical practice experience in general Radiography.
• Active involvement in continuing professional development (MRTB requirements).
• Broad knowledge of Emergency, general, modality and trauma at a tertiary level.
• Sound knowledge of IT systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality diagnostic imaging in a timely manner.
• Deliver safe, respectful, effective and efficient patient care and optimal service delivery.
• Uphold and meet registration and regulatory CPD requirements.
• Effectively manage daily running of theatre, including staff and equipment resources.
• Provide training and support to students and staff in theatre.
• Maintain good communication with multiple teams.

About the Role

Waikato Hospital is one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the country, and we are seeking an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join our friendly, dedicated team. As a successful Medical Imaging Technologist, you will play a key role in imaging patients across different settings within the General Radiology department. After four weeks of training this position will be a 50 / 50 rotation on the theatre and general roster. Day to day, you will provide comprehensive imaging services in trauma, inpatients and outpatients settings. You will also work in collaboration with other health professionals + multi-disciplinary teams. Reporting into Theatre MIT Unit Charge.
