Taylor Preston Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Ngauranga Gorge site, just 10 minutes from Wellington CBD. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves maintaining and servicing large industrial equipment in a cornerstone meat processing facility. Hours are Monday to Friday 3.30pm–3.00am or Sunday to Wednesday 5.30am–5.00pm.

The hourly rate is NZD 40–45. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa is required; hydraulics, pneumatics, welding

Formación

• Level 4 Trade certificate in maintenance and diagnostics or fitter/turner required.
• Experience in regular maintenance, servicing of machinery and routine checks.
• Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you.
• Experience in managing the maintenance of critical spares.

We are Taylor Preston - a meat processor and exporter of lamb, mutton, goat, beef, and associated by-products. Established in 1991, we are privately owned and located in the Ngauranga Gorge, 10 minutes from Wellington CBD.

We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team.

• Our new Maintenance Engineer will report to the Maintenance Manager .
• The Hours of work are Monday to Friday 3.30pm to 3.00am, or Sunday to Wednesday 5.30am to 5.00pm
• Hourly rate is set at $40.00 - $45 an hour.

If you have:

• Level 4 Trade certificate in maintenance and diagnostics or fitter/turner required
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding ability Tig, Mig, MMAW
• Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site- or a passion to learn in this environment
• Experience in regular maintenance, servicing of machinery and routine checks
• The ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you
• Experience in managing the maintenance of critical spares

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards
• Is a team player but still able to work on their own
• Is organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment

Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team and utilise your problem-solving skills to provide top level service to our processing plant.
