Qualifications

Mechanical Foreman

Are you an experienced mechanical leader with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and team performance? DIALOG Fitzroy is seeking a skilled Foreman to join our Mechanical Division and lead site maintenance activities and project works across our operations based in Wellington. The role is guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week, with wage from $46.47 to $47.26 per hour depending on contract, plus applicable allowances.


About the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, Coordinator, Project Manager, or Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading teams of 5-10 personnel, including Leading Hands and Tradespeople, across maintenance and project works.


As a Foreman, you will coordinate daily site activities, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, manage productivity targets, and act as a key liaison between DIALOG Fitzroy, clients, and project stakeholders.

About You

What You'll Bring


  • Mechanical Trade Certificate and/or relevant industry certificates (preferred).

  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Fitter/Welder in an industrial maintenance, shutdowns, or projects in piping and petrochemical / Oil & Gas, with minimum 2 years' work experience as a Mechanical Lead.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to plan work, manage resources, and meet project deadlines.

  • Commitment to health and safety best practices.

  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
