Job summary

Meridian Energy is hiring a Mechanical Engineer based in Twizel to deliver mechanical engineering work packages, prepare quality management documents, support site delivery and asset health.

This role focuses on our hydro assets, with occasional work on other assets. For Twizel staff we offer flexibility such as 9 day fortnights and a supportive, diverse team committed to a sustainable energy future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of professional experience in generation consulting or engineering.
• Demonstrated on-site project engineering experience.
• Experience with fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Experience in quality management.
• Ability to manage own deliverables.
• Understanding and experience of maintenance and project practices.
• Experience working with external consultants to deliver project work.

Due to internal promotion, Meridian is hiring a Mechanical Engineer based in Twizel, to deliver mechanical engineering work packages, prepare quality management documents, support site delivery and asset health and provide mechanical engineering site support.

This role will be focused on our hydro assets, but, at times, may require some work on our other asset types.

For Twizel based staff we do offer increased flexibility (e.g. 9 day fortnights) if that’s something you’d be keen to explore.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with ideally at least 5 years professional experience in the generation consulting or engineering industry.

• Experience in fault finding and root cause analysis.
