Job summary

Meridian Energy in Twizel seeks a Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical work packages, support site delivery and asset health for hydro assets, with occasional work on other assets. The role emphasizes hands-on project engineering and coordination with external consultants.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Due to internal promotion, Meridian is hiring a Mechanical Engineer based in Twizel, to deliver mechanical engineering work packages, prepare quality management documents, support site delivery and asset health and provide mechanical engineering site support.

This role will be focused on our hydro assets, but, at times, may require some work on our other asset types.

For Twizel based staff we do offer increased flexibility (e.g. 9 day fortnights) if that’s something you’d be keen to explore.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with ideally at least 5 years professional experience in the generation consulting or engineering industry.
• Demonstrated project engineering experience working onsite.
• Experience in fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Experience in quality management.
• Can effectively manage your own deliverables.
• Understanding and experience of maintenance and project practices.
• Experience working with external consultants to deliver project work.
