Job summary

Skookum Technology Ltd in Auckland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Auckland Engineering Team. You will tackle real problems, work closely with customers, and deliver high-quality, build-ready designs that come to life in the workshop and on site.

This role offers end-to-end engineering from concept through to manufacture, install, and commissioning, with opportunities for career progression into project engineering and management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• A track record of matching the right technical solution to the problem in front of you.
• Attention to detail and a 'get it right before it goes to production' mindset.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design, calculations, and detailing for customer projects - from site measure-ups through to production drawings
• Make sure designs stack up against relevant AS/NZS standards, with QA/QC sign-off before manufacturing
• Support project scoping, tenders, procurement and customer site evaluations
• Work closely with our manufacturing, construction, and commissioning teams to bring designs from paper to reality
• Keep reporting sharp and data accurate across our digital platforms
• Help drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the team
