Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a niche engineering consultancy in the Waikato, New Zealand. You will lead mechanical plant projects from concept through to on-site commissioning, including scope, costings, layout drawings, P&ID, PFD, and equipment lists, working with a multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualification and proven experience in industrial projects, preferably food and dairy.

Qualifications

• A tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Experience delivering mechanical plant projects from concept to commissioning.
• Proficiency with Inventor (preferred).
• Experience with contract management and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical plant projects from concept to completion, including scope and costings.
• Produce layout and equipment drawings, site surveys, P&ID and PFD, and item lists.
• Support project delivery and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

Our client is a niche multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy who provide engineering design and construction of production processing plant, utilities and supporting infrastructure in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and biosciences industries.

With existing mechanical, electrical, chemical process, and structural teams they are currently looking to expand their mechanical team, and as such are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

You will see mechanical plant projects through from concept to completion, being involved in scope & costings, concept and detailed design, including the production of layout and equipment drawings, site surveys, P&ID and PFD, item and equipment lists, and models and project delivery.

To be successful in the role you will have:

• A tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualification
• Proven experience with mechanical plant design and project management experience working on industrial projects – preferably food and dairy industry projects
• Experience seeing projects through from concept to on-site commissioning
• Proven proficiency with Inventor (preferred)
• Experience with contract management, contractor management and contract variations
