Job summary

Miller Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in New Zealand. This hands-on role focuses on turning bespoke engineering concepts into manufacturable realities within a collaborative team, with site involvement to gather critical information for design, manufacture and installation.

You will manage multiple projects through the full design lifecycle, produce detailed 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, and work closely with the workshop to ensure practical, producible

Qualifications

• SolidWorks proficiency required to create detailed 3D models and drawings.
• Experience turning concepts into practical, manufacturable designs.
• Ability to produce accurate manufacturing drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Develop preliminary and functional concepts into practical, detailed designs.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to solve design challenges.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects through the design lifecycle.
• Undertake site visits to gather information for design, manufacture and installation.
• Prepare bills of materials and specify non-standard components.
• Collaborate with workshop to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Troubleshoot design/manufacturing issues as they arise.
• Contribute ideas to improve existing designs and design efficiencies.
