Job summary

Tony's Tyres Botany workshop is seeking a hands-on technician with wheel alignment and mechanical servicing experience. You’ll work across wheel alignments, steering and suspension, and provide repairs while contributing to a busy, safety-first workshop.

We value real automotive expertise, a customer-first approach and strong teamwork. The role runs 45 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, with training and development opportunities within the Bridgestone network.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' hands-on mechanical or automotive experience, or a relevant trade qualification.
• Full, clean New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Customer-first mindset with ability to explain work clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing things right first time.

Responsibilities

• Perform wheel alignments and steering/suspension adjustments using computerized equipment.
• Conduct general and specialised mechanical servicing and repairs across a wide range of vehicles.
• Accurately diagnose faults using modern testing equipment.
• Advise customers on tyre options, vehicle handling and safety needs.
• Support the team with tyre fitting, puncture repairs and general workshop duties.

If you know your way around an alignment machine or a workshop — and you take pride in doing the job properly — we want to hear from you.

Tony's Tyres has been keeping Kiwi drivers safely on the road since 1982, and our Botany store is a busy, well-equipped workshop at the heart of our national network. We're looking for someone who brings real automotive or tyre industry experience and is ready to hit the ground running in a role that covers both wheel alignment and mechanical work.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time, permanent position where you'll be doing meaningful, varied work every day. You'll be the go-to person for wheel alignments and steering and suspension work, while also contributing to the wider workshop with mechanical servicing and repairs. This is a hands-on role in a well-organised, safety-first environment where your expertise is respected and your development is supported.

This role is 45 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Performing wheel alignments and steering and suspension adjustments using computerised alignment equipment
• Performing general and specialised mechanical servicing and repairs across a wide range of vehicles
• Accurately diagnosing faults using modern testing equipment
• Advising customers on tyre options, vehicle handling and what their car actually needs to keep safe on our roads
• Supporting the team with tyre fitting, puncture repairs and general workshop duties
