Job description

Patagonia is an outdoor apparel business like no other, \"We're in business to save our home planet.\" A certified B Corporation, the company is recognised internationally for its commitment to product quality and environmental activism - and now our one and only shareholder is our home planet with 100% of profits going to fight the environmental crisis. Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is based in Ventura, California with offices around the world including our Aotearoa New Zealand office in Tāhuna Queenstown.

Our values stay true to a business that was started by a band of climbers and surfers, and the minimalist style they promoted. The approach we take demonstrates a bias for simplicity and utility - build the best product and provide the best service; examine our practices openly and honestly; protect our home planet; be just, equitable and antiracist; do it our way.

We look for candidates with proven experience who thrive in a team-based atmosphere, individuals who are passionate about their communities, the environment and caring for others. We seek core Patagonia product users, people who love to spend as much time as possible in the mountains, ocean, and wild nature. Folks who deal well with ambiguity, learn on the fly, demonstrate sound judgment, and solve problems creatively are most successful with us. We're looking for someone who builds and maintains relationships with ease and desires to put the customer at the centre of everything they do. We don't want someone who can just do a job - we want the best person for the job. Yet we don't look for \"stars\" seeking special treatment and perks. Our best efforts are collaborative, and Patagonia culture rewards the ensemble player, while it barely tolerates those who need the limelight.

The Role:

The Marketing Lead is responsible for delivering operational excellence to bring Patagonia's marketing to life across Aotearoa New Zealand — connecting people to our brand, our communities, and our mission to protect our home planet.

Based out of our Queenstown office, this junior to mid-level role sits at the centre of our marketing ecosystem - connecting teams, processes, and timelines to ensure the seamless execution of campaigns, communications, and brand experiences across retail, wholesale, ecommerce, and events.

Reporting to the Marketing & Impact Manager NZ and working closely with the ANZ team, this role blends hands-on coordination with ownership of key workstreams. It brings structure, clarity, and momentum to how marketing comes to life locally, ensuring global strategy is executed with consistency while remaining relevant to local communities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the execution of the NZ marketing plan, ensuring campaigns and initiatives are delivered on time, on brand, and with strong attention to detail.
  • Own and optimise marketing operations, including execution of seasonal calendars, asset workflows, and cross-channel coordination.
  • Enable aligned execution across retail, wholesale and ecommerce, supporting a consistent and elevated brand experience.
  • Act as a key connector across teams, influencing alignment and driving clarity across multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Continuously improve marketing effectiveness, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance delivery.

About You:

Great campaigns don't just happen — they're shaped by the person who bring all the pieces together to create the magic. You're that person, you care about the details, the process, and the impact — bringing a steady hand to the work while keeping our purpose and community front of mind.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Experienced in marketing coordination, campaign delivery, or marketing operations
  • Highly organised, with a natural ability to manage multiple priorities without losing the detail
  • A clear, thoughtful communicator who builds strong relationships across teams
  • Comfortable working behind the scenes to make things happen — and stepping forward to take ownership when needed
  • A problem solver who enjoys improving systems and finding better ways of working
  • Confident influencing without formal authority, bringing people together to get things done
  • Curious, adaptable, and open to learning new tools and approaches
  • Connected to Patagonia's mission and the communities we serve
