Marketing & Recruitment, Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland

$114,400 - $154,800 per annum (Band I) depending on experience

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

A university is more than a place of study.

It's where students build friendships, discover new interests, access support, and develop a sense of belonging. These experiences shape how students choose a university, how connected and supported they feel, and ultimately how they thrive throughout their time at university.

We're looking for a Marketing Manager who can bring that experience to life.

Leading marketing for our Campus Experience portfolio, you'll use audience insight, strategic thinking, and compelling storytelling to showcase our campuses, accommodation, facilities, services, events, and student opportunities. You'll be comfortable working across a broad portfolio, translating diverse experiences into clear, engaging marketing that helps future and current students understand what makes our University experience distinctive.

This new role and focussed portfolio is part of a broader transformation of how we engage and connect with our audiences, amplify our stories and create connected and meaningful experiences. Find out more about our reimagining of our Marketing, Recruitment, Communications and Engagement functions.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. The full salary range for this role is $114,400 - $154,800 - Band I, per annum.

We have a structured salary framework with three zones for those developing into the role (developing), fully effective (target) and contributing beyond what is expected of the role (upper). Appointments are typically made within the target range of $122,501 - $140,000, depending on skills, experience, and internal equity. We welcome conversations about your expectations and what matters to you in your overall package. Any offer will be made within the advertised range and guided by fairness, consistency, and our commitment to pay equity.

For more detailed information about the role and requirements, please refer to the Position Description.

You'll combine strong people leadership and communication skills with a data-informed approach to decision making, using insights and performance metrics to optimise outcomes and inform recommendations.

We're particularly interested in people who bring:
  • Experience delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns, content and events, from strategy and planning through to execution and evaluation.
  • Strong strategic marketing capability, with the ability to translate organisational objectives into impactful audience engagement activities.
  • A data-informed approach to decision-making, using insights and performance metrics to optimise outcomes.
