Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading business integration, organisational change or transformation in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading new functions, teams, operating models or governance frameworks.
  • Change management capability with sustainable ways of working.
  • Translate strategic priorities into practical delivery plans, milestones and outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and application in policy or service design.
  • Knowledge of equity frameworks and system-level change.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity while maintaining momentum.
  • NZ work rights at time of application.

As the Māori & Equity Transition Lead, you will work closely with the Head of Māori & Equity Outcomes to establish and embed a new operating model, structure, work programme, governance rhythms and ways of working across ACC. This is a unique opportunity to shape how ACC delivers Māori and equity outcomes, translating strategy into practical delivery plans and sustainable business practices that support keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between. You will partner with leaders, influence across complex stakeholder groups, and support the successful implementation of organisational priorities.

The appointing salary for this role is $117,787 to $152,430 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading business integration, organisational change, transformation, or transition initiatives within complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading new functions, teams, operating models, or governance frameworks.
  • Change management capability with experience embedding sustainable ways of working.
  • Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical delivery plans, milestones, and operational outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and demonstrated application in organisational systems, policy, or service design.
  • Knowledge of equity frameworks and system-level change.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively through ambiguity while maintaining momentum and delivery focus.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
