Job summary

ACC New Zealand invites a Group Risk Manager - Technology & Data to lead risk strategy across technology, cyber security, privacy and data governance. You will partner with senior leaders and the Board, building capability and guiding risk-informed decisions.

You will manage a small team, oversee controls and assurance programs, and drive risk maturity across ACC. The role includes a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, with a strong focus on governance and proactive risk

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in risk management, technology risk, cyber security, privacy, governance or compliance environments.
  • A recognised professional Risk Management qualification and relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, controls, assurance and governance practices.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex information into practical business insights and recommendations.
  • Sound judgement, resilience, adaptability and a proactive approach to leading through change.
  • Successful completion of a credit check.

As the Group Risk Manager - Technology & Data, you will lead the strategic uplift and operational delivery of risk management across ACC's Technology & Data Group. Working at the intersection of technology, cyber security, privacy, artificial intelligence, data governance and enterprise risk, you will partner with senior leaders to ensure risks are proactively identified, effectively managed and translated into meaningful business action. Leading a specialist team of two direct reports, you will build capability, strengthen risk maturity and provide trusted advice that supports investment decisions, governance and organisational performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide outcomes while contributing to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The appointing salary for this role is $138,301 - $178,978 per annum, based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance

You will bring:
