South Hospo Ltd in Geraldine is seeking a full-time Bar Manager to lead the venue operations at The Village Inn Complex Geraldine, ensuring compliance with liquor and safety regulations while delivering quality service. The role includes inventory management, staff rosters, and promotional planning to drive a cost-effective bar operation.

You will manage inventory, rosters, and supervise staff to maintain a clean, safe bar area and compliant operations, with hours ranging from 30 to 40 per week

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and amendments, Smoke Free Environments Amendment Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2003.
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the premises liquor and gaming licences.
• Ensure staff are aware of obligations under the Act and liquor licence.
• Manage liquor inventory control and purchasing, prevent stock outs, maintain stock integrity, conduct weekly variances reports and remedial actions.
• Prepare a cost-effective bar roster weekly in advance.
• Keep the bar area and behind the bar clean, tidy and compliant with standards.
• Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working condition.
• Update daily records.
• Plan and implement ongoing cost-effective promotional initiatives in consultation with management.
• Safely handle funds and secure them in the safe before leaving the premises.
• Ensure the security alarm is activated and functioning before closing.
• Maintain a safe environment for patrons and staff and comply with OSH requirements.

Job Description:

• Comply with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and amendments, Smoke Free Environments Amendment Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2003.
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the premises liquor and gaming licence/s.
• Ensure all staff are aware of their obligations pursuant to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the company’s liquor licence is not jeopardised—this includes patron conduct and intoxication.
• Manage the liquor inventory control and purchasing, ensuring no “stock outs” occur, integrity is maintained in the stock control system, weekly assessments are completed, variances are reported, and remedial action is taken.
• Ensure/prepare a cost-effective bar roster is displayed weekly in advance
• Ensure the bar area and behind the bar are kept clean and tidy at all times and in accordance to specified standards.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and tidy and in good working condition.
• Update daily records.
• Prepare and introduce an on-going calendar of cost-effective promotional initiatives in consultation with the management
• Ensure all funds and proceeds belonging to the business are accounted for, secured, and locked in the safe before leaving the premises.
• Ensure the security alarm is activated and functioning before leaving the premises.
• Ensure the premises is a safe environment for all patrons and staff and complies with OSH requirements at all times.
