Job summary

Private Advertiser in Hamilton, NZ seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead a large, complex manufacturing finance team. You will drive commercial finance, governance and insight to support performance and strategic decisions.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, cost management and financial planning, partnering with senior leaders to unlock profitability, improve working capital, and deliver measurable improvements. This is a role reporting to the CFO within a fast-paced operation.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification is required.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing economics, costs, margins and working capital.
• Proven ability to partner with senior management and influence decisions beyond the finance function.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and the drive to challenge the status quo.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team and balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and financial planning.
• Drive governance, internal controls, and statutory obligations across the business.
• Partner with operations, sales and leadership to translate financial data into commercial actions.
• Analyse costs, productivity, margins and profitability to improve performance.
• Develop and mentor an established finance team to deliver high performance.
