Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Manager, Core Operational Risk Practices to lead the non-financial risk program within the Line 2 Risk function based in Auckland. You will drive consistent risk practices across the bank and provide practical guidance to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will partner with Compliance, Operational Risk and Regulatory Governance teams, uplift risk reporting, and influence stakeholders at all levels to embed risk practices enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operational risk, compliance or broader risk roles within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks and their practical application.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical, solutions-focused mindset with a track record of process improvement.
  • Confidence working with data and insights to support sound decision making.

Job Description - Manager Core Operational Risk Practices

Auckland Based – Line 2 Risk

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Operational Risk Practices to join our Risk function at Westpac New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Core Non-Financial Risk Practices, this role plays an important part in supporting the consistent and effective delivery of non-financial risk practices across the bank.

As part of the Line 2 Compliance and Non-Financial Risk team, you will work closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Operational Risk and Regulatory Governance. The focus of the role is to strengthen a consistent, enterprise-wide approach to managing non-financial risk, while supporting improvements in how risk practices are delivered and embedded.

You will contribute to uplifting risk practices, enhancing reporting and providing practical guidance to ensure high quality outcomes across the organisation.
