Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a seasoned Management Accountant to support five Regional Directors with accurate reporting, forward-looking insight and financial advice.

You will work with Finance Business Partners, manage month-end processes, budgets, forecasts and P&Ls, and mentor junior staff to strengthen financial performance across a large national organisation.

Qualifications

• CA qualification and tertiary accounting qualification required.
• At least five years’ management accounting experience.
• Strong month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial-modelling skills.
• Excellent analytical ability and commercial awareness.
• Experience partnering with senior managers in a large/complex organisation.
• Ability to provide advice, challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems.
• Power BI dashboarding experience valued; Oracle/Hyperion or similar systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end processes, including accruals and Journals.
• Deliver monthly financial and operational reporting.
• Manage regional budgets, forecasts, P&Ls and FTE caps.
• Analyse results and explain variances against budgets and targets.
• Provide financial advice on operating and capital expenditure.
• Support financial analysis across a significant portfolio.
• Review financial impact of business proposals and projects.
• Identify trends, risks and issues affecting performance.
• Improve financial models, dashboards, reporting and forecasting processes.
• Build relationships with Regional Directors and budget holders.
• Support and mentor other Management Accountants when required.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems
• A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to simplify complex information
• Power BI dashboarding experience would be valuable. Experience with Oracle, Hyperion or another large budgeting and forecasting system would be advantageous
