Job summary

Alliance Group – Nelson South, South Island is seeking an experienced Trades Assistant for our Nelson Plant. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance and diagnostic tasks, working alongside Shift Engineers to keep equipment running smoothly.

You will contribute to safe, high-quality processing outcomes by reporting faults promptly and performing repairs with attention to detail. Day shift with every second weekend off and a negotiable roster awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with hands-on maintenance and diagnostics experience.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and quality work.
• Good problem-solving skills and practical mindset.
• Clear verbal and written communication, in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• A forklift licence is desirable and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Shift Engineers to complete maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure all engineering and support services operate at optimum levels.
• Report equipment faults and damages promptly.
• Perform repairs on faulty equipment and machinery.
