Our client is a well‑established New Zealand manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Weekend Supervisor & Mechanical Breakdown 2IC to join their operation based in Ngaruawahia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded individual looking to combine hands‑on plant maintenance responsibilities with team leadership and production supervision.

About the Role

• Lead and support a team of 7 production operators to achieve daily production, quality, and safety targets.
• Act as the first point of response to plant breakdowns, carrying out basic troubleshooting and coordinating escalation where required.
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities and preparation for planned maintenance shutdowns.
• Coach, train, and support team members while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, operational processes, and production reporting requirements.

About You

• Experience working as a Fitter or within a plant maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Basic mechanical fault‑finding and troubleshooting experience.
• A hands‑on approach and willingness to get involved across multiple areas of the operation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• A proactive attitude with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
