Job summary

Alliance Group Limited in Nelson is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation of our Nelson Plant equipment on a rotating shift roster (45 hours per week).

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will install, maintain, and service plant equipment, respond to breakdowns, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement. This role offers multi-trade development and opportunities, with relocation support if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 Engineering qualification.
• Hands-on experience in fitting, machining, and/or welding.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety.
• Problem-solving and innovative thinking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good documentation and record-keeping.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster.
• Experience in food production/manufacturing (preferred).
• Electrical qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times.
• Installing, maintaining, and supporting plant and operational equipment.
• Responding to and resolving breakdowns efficiently.
• Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks and servicing.
• Planning and executing reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to minimise plant downtime.
• Diagnosing faults and determining root causes.
• Repairing or replacing faulty components.
• Supporting ongoing engineering stores management.

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Alliance Nelson Plant. This is a key role, critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

This position operates on a rotating shift roster 45 hours per week.
