Job summary

Alliance Group Limited is seeking a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter for our Mataura Plant. You will maintain, install and support operations and equipment, minimizing downtime through effective maintenance.

The role requires a relevant Fitter Trade Qualification, 5+ years FMCG maintenance experience, and the ability to work shifts. A pre-employment medical and drug test are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Relevant Fitter Trade Qualification.
• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in FMCG processing.
• Good knowledge of bearings, seals, gaskets and alignment principles.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods and strong analytical skills.
• Good communication and time management; able to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance.
• Maintain and repair machinery and processing equipment.
• Determine root causes and replace defective components.

Te Tūranga - The Role

Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter at our Mataura Plant. We are looking for a motivated person based at our Mataura Plant to maintain, install, and support operations and operational equipment and through effective plant maintenance minimise plant downtime. This position reports to the mechanical supervisor.

Ideally you will have:

• a relevant Fitter Trade Qualification
• at least 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG processing environment
• a sound knowledge of bearings, seals and gaskets, and alignment principles.
• knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems
• the ability to concentrate for extended periods
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• good communication and time management skills.
• the ability to work shift work

Your core role will need you to perform the required planned preventative maintenance and while maintaining a very high level of safety standards. You will maintain and repair machinery and processing equipment, determine the root cause and replace damaged or defective components as needed along with addressing breakdowns ensuring minimum downtime to the business.
