Job summary

Alliance Group is hiring a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter for the Mataura Plant to maintain, install and support operations and equipment, reducing downtime. The role reports to the mechanical supervisor and requires working shift patterns.

The successful candidate will have a Fitter Trade Qualification, at least 5 years FMCG maintenance experience, and strong knowledge of bearings, hydraulics and conveyors. Benefits include health subsidies and EAP.

• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in FMCG processing.
• Strong knowledge of bearings, seals, gaskets and alignment principles.
• Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors; able to troubleshoot.

Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter at our Mataura Plant. We are looking for a motivated person based at our Mataura Plant to maintain, install, and support operations and operational equipment and through effective plant maintenance minimise plant downtime. This position reports to the mechanical supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance while maintaining a very high level of safety standards
• Maintain and repair machinery and processing equipment
• Determine the root cause and replace damaged or defective components as needed
• Address breakdowns ensuring minimum downtime to the business

About you

• Relevant Fitter Trade Qualification
• At least 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG processing environment
• Sound knowledge of bearings, seals and gaskets, and alignment principles
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems
• The ability to concentrate for extended periods
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and time management skills
• The ability to work shift work
