Job summary

TFE Hotels Group is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for Adina Hotel Heritage Christchurch. You will manage maintenance and engineering activities, implement preventative maintenance, and plan expenditures as outlined.

The role requires hands-on technical skills and a strong guest-service mindset. As part of a hotel operations team, you will respond to repair requests, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of building management experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
• Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and acknowledge guests per standards.
• Operate and understand electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Interpret readings from meters and gauges; monitor and maintain equipment.
• Perform maintenance in hotel public areas and private spaces.
• Work under pressure with good judgment; be available for emergencies.

About the role

As Maintenance Supervisor at Adina Hotel Heritage Christchurch, You demonstrates enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the “Go MAD” philosophy. Responsible for managing all processes within the maintenance and engineering department and directly responsible for the implementation of all preventative maintenance scheduling and planning of expenditure as determined and outlined.

To be successful in this role you should :

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.


• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.


• Communicatewith different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.


• Check for new maintenance requests from thePMS(Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.


• Update themaintenance work order form / Job cardand file them.


• Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.


• Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgment.


• Perform maintenance activities inhotel public areaslike plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment, and cosmetic items.


• Perform generalhousekeepingand engineering-relatedinventoryduties and able to work independently


• To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifyingcoursesof action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.


• To be available for anyemergenciesand act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.


• Abel to repair walls, maintain a swimming pool, garden areas, plant rooms, Ac filtration, check and maintain function rooms, dealing with sub-contractors. If worked on the Plumbing side that is an added advantage.


• The role is sometimes on call.

Who can APPLY-

• Minimum 1-2 yrs of experience. Who has building management experience eg. age-care, not necessarily from a hotel background.


• Possess appropriate Industry Trade Qualification.


• Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.


• Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous
