Job summary

TFE Hotels’ Adina Hotel Heritage Christchurch seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and engineering team, ensuring reliable operations and guest safety. You will oversee preventative maintenance scheduling, planning of expenditure, and direct involvement in housekeeping and engineering tasks to support a high standard of guest experience.

You will manage maintenance requests, interpret meters, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of building maintenance experience.
• Industry Trade Qualification.
• Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
• Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and acknowledge guests per company standards.
• Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Update maintenance requests from the PMS and update remarks when tasks are completed.
• Update the maintenance work order form / Job card and file them.
• Interpret readings from meters and gauges and manage emergencies.
• Perform maintenance in hotel public areas and assist with inventory and contractor coordination.
• Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and property.

About the role

As Maintenance Supervisor at Adina Hotel Heritage Christchurch, You demonstrates enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the “Go MAD” philosophy. Responsible for managing all processes within the maintenance and engineering department and directly responsible for the implementation of all preventative maintenance scheduling and planning of expenditure as determined and outlined.

To be successful in this role you should :

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.
• Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.
• Update the maintenance work order form / Job card and file them.
• Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
• Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgment.
• Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment, and cosmetic items.
• Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties and able to work independently
• To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
• To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
• Abel to repair walls, maintain a swimming pool, garden areas, plant rooms, Ac filtration, check and maintain function rooms, dealing with sub-contractors. If worked on the Plumbing side that is an added advantage.
• The role is sometimes on call.

Who can APPLY-

• Minimum 1-2 yrs of experience. Who has building management experience eg. age-care, not necessarily from a hotel background.
• Possess appropriate Industry Trade Qualification.
• Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
• Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous
