Mercury NZ Limited is seeking an experienced people leader to head the maintenance team at the Mōkai geothermal power station in Rotorua. You will supervise four Maintenance Technicians, drive maintenance excellence, manage costs and mentor the team in best practices, with a focus on safe, reliable generation in a heavy industry setting.

We’re looking for an experienced people leader to lead the maintenance team at our Mōkai geothermal power station.
Mōkai is jointly owned by Tūaropaki Trust and Mercury and has been generating renewable electricity since 2000. The station has expanded over time and is now a significant geothermal operation, with 10 binary turbines and two steam turbines. The geothermal resource also supports Tūaropaki’s wider operations, including milk powder production and temperature-controlled horticulture. This creates a varied operating environment where strong relationships, sound judgement and clear communication are essential.
Reporting to the Site Lead, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of four Maintenance Technicians to ensure that the execution of our maintenance is completed to the highest standard. Your focus will be building a trusted, capable and high-performing team that safely delivers maintenance to ensure reliable generation while meeting customer, market and stakeholder requirements. This is a Monday to Friday position, working approximately 7.30am to 4.00pm.
