Job summary

Hynds Group in Pokeno, New Zealand, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to keep our manufacturing line running smoothly and to contribute to shutdowns and plant improvements.

You will perform planned maintenance, investigate root causes, and implement durable fixes, while fabricating and welding plastic liner components to drawings. Work closely with the production team to keep equipment moving and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent
• Solid experience as a maintenance fitter in manufacturing/industrial settings
• Strong hydraulics and automated equipment experience
• Practical can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset
• Full NZ Class 1 licence and willingness to work day and night shifts
• Safety-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Keep plant running through planned maintenance and quick breakdown response
• Identify root causes and implement lasting fixes
• Take charge of mechanical shutdowns and spares
• Manufacture and weld plastic liner components to drawings
• Share know-how with production team and drive continuous improvement
