As an integrated local manufacturer, we partner with our customers to supply corrugated cardboard packaging solutions across major market segments, including FMCG, fruit and produce, protein, dairy, dry goods, wine, beverage, and industrial manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of manufacturing equipment
Troubleshooting mechanical faults and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and other plant machinery
Carrying out fabrication and welding tasks as required (basic MIG/TIG experience is preferred)
Providing mechanical support for corrugating and converting machines
Working alongside electricians, fitters, and operating staff to diagnose issues and implement solutions
Installing new equipment and assisting with machine upgrades or factory modifications
Completing assigned work orders, including planned and preventative maintenance
Completing a 3-month training period on day shift, followed by a 3-month transition period from day shift to afternoon shift
Supplying your own tools
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will demonstrate the ability to:
Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team
Apply a strong understanding of mechanical concepts
Diagnose and solve problems methodically and accurately, particularly under pressure
Work independently and use initiative when required
Be versatile, flexible, responsible, and logical in your approach
Work regular overtime when required
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A Level 4 Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, preferably in a medium to heavy manufacturing or industrial setting (all ages & experience encouraged to apply)
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety
A strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
The ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Excellent fault-finding and problem solving skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with boiler and steam systems (advantageous but not essential)
A good level of physical fitness
Required training certificates, or willingness to complete the following: Forklift F Endorsement, Confined Spaces, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, Boiler, Permit to Work, and Working at Heights
