Job summary

Tegel Foods Ltd in New Plymouth is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team. You will perform preventative and general maintenance on plant machinery, focusing on minimizing downtime and improving efficiency while adhering to hygiene, quality and safety policies.

The successful candidate will hold Level 4 maintenance qualifications, have experience with conveyors, processing and packaging equipment, ammonia refrigeration, and strong time management and

Qualifications

• Level 4 or equivalent maintenance engineering qualification.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, processing, and packaging machinery.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and general maintenance on plant machinery.
• Focus on elimination of downtime and improving plant efficiency.
• Comply with hygiene, quality and safety policies.
• References to start 3pm, 12-hour day, 4 on 4 off.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our company and add to our established New Plymouth Engineering team.

You will be responsible for carrying out preventative and general maintenance on our machinery as well as focussing on elimination of downtime within the plant. Plant efficiency is an important aspect of this role. Activities need to be conducted in a cost-effective manner within acceptable time frames whilst complying with our hygiene, quality, and safety policies. So, we would love to hear about your experience in these areas.

The successful candidates should ideally have:

• Level 4 or equivalent maintenance engineering qualifications
• Experience in conveyors, processing, and packaging machinery maintenance
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration
• Effective time management and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The role works a 12-hour day, 4on4off with a 3pm start
