Job summary

Groundline Engineering Ltd. is seeking hands-on Maintenance Engineer to keep a busy sawmill and processing operation running at full capacity in Rolleston, Canterbury. Two positions available: one on a Monday–Friday day shift and one on the existing night shift crew.

The site features automated plant and robotics alongside traditional sawmill equipment. You will check, maintain, and repair machinery across the sawmill and processing shed, following a preventative maintenance programme and taking

Qualifications

• A recognised trade qualification (fitter/turner, mechanical, or plant maintenance).
• Hands-on plant or machinery maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Practical fabrication skills for repairs and project work.
• A strong safety mindset, including lock-out/tag-out discipline.
• Willingness and ability to work night shift.

Responsibilities

• Check, maintain, and repair machinery across the sawmill and processing shed, including robotic lines.
• Operate within a structured preventative maintenance programme and assist on special fabrication projects.
