Job summary

Silver Fern Farms Hawera is seeking a motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our engineering team. The role focuses on hands-on electrical reliability, repairs and routine maintenance on a large industrial site within a leading New Zealand food exporter.

You will work in a two-week rotating roster with day and night shifts, contributing to projects and site equipment installation while collaborating with a strong team to deliver top-level service.

Qualifications

• Relevant Trades Qualification and Full NZ EWRB Electrical registration
• Good knowledge of sound electrical principles and repairs on a large industrial processing site
• Exposure to PLC and VSDs in past role
• Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions and communicate this
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team
• Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload and lead by example
• Desire to keep learning and upskill – leadership or refrigeration/project design

Responsibilities

• Hands-on electrical reliability improvements, repairs and maintenance within a large industrial site
• Be involved in projects and installation of new site equipment
• Work across a wide range of electrical applications across the site
• Collaborate across the maintenance team to identify root causes and fix them right—first time
