Job summary

Opal Kiwi Packaging in Christchurch, South Island, is seeking an energetic Maintenance Electrician to join our local team. The role is Monday to Friday, 5pm–1am, focusing on maintaining, fault finding and repairing machinery to keep our plant running efficiently.

Opal Kiwi Packaging – Christchurch, South Island

We are looking for an energetic, proactive Maintenance electrician to join our Christchurch based team to work Monday through Friday, 5pm - 1am.

Being a ‘hands on’ role, you will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding and repairing machinery to optimise our equipment reliability and performance, providing system support to ensure our plant operates efficiently at all times.

Based in Christchurch, your role will involve:

• Machine maintenance
• Fault finding
• Repairing machinery
• Optimizing equipment reliability and performance
• Providing system support
• Building and system maintenance
• Small project and installation work

To be successful in this role you must be a keen and energetic individual with the following background:

• Current full electrical registration and practising licence
• Experience in industrial electrical installation or maintenance
• PLC experience
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Flexibility, initiative, and proactive
• Leadership abilities
• Have an understanding of mechanical concepts
• Have a practical approach to diagnosing and solving problems, working methodically and accurately, especially when under pressure
• Have the ability work unsupervised
• Be responsible and logical
• Ability to work overtime when required
