Job summary

Heritage Lifecare – Wellington, North Island, is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator for Roseneath Lifecare & Village in Carterton. The role focuses on general maintenance, preventative work, repairs, and caring for the care home’s exterior and grounds.

You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment for residents. The ideal candidate has hands-on building experience, ability to work in a team and independently, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience with general maintenance, painting, plumbing, minor carpentry preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• Ability to build good rapport with others and show empathy.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, with excellent customer service skills, and a friendly and positive attitude.
• Experience delivering to a quality standard.

Responsibilities

• As Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the care home, including preventative maintenance, building repairs, and maintaining the building’s exterior and grounds.
• You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure the highest level of safety for residents.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Coordinator with a passion for working in a general maintenance environment to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. We’re seeking someone with a positive, can-do attitude who understands the importance of a clean and tidy environment, is great with people, and takes pride in their work. You’ll be both hands‑on, with practical building and maintenance skills, as well as the organisational abilities to manage workloads, prioritise tasks. As Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the care home, including preventative maintenance, building repairs, and maintaining the building’s exterior and grounds.
