Job summary

Huia Vineyards in Marlborough seeks a motivated, hands-on maintenance-oriented person to support us with maintenance tasks and keeping our Home Block looking sharp. The role is permanent, typically 40 hours a week, with seasonal peaks.

You will work across vineyard and winery, using and maintaining agricultural equipment, while collaborating with a small team and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality wine production.

Qualifications

• Experience in using and maintaining vineyard, horticultural or agricultural equipment.
• Hands-on, multi-skilled with ability to work across winery and vineyard.
• Interest or experience in biodynamic/organic grape growing and wine production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support tasks across Home Block and winery.
• Collaborate with Huia team, contractors and harvest staff.

Job description

Huia has been making Marlborough wines with a unique and elegant character on a small scale since 1997. We’re seeking a motivated, multi-skilled and hardworking person to support us with maintenance tasks and keeping our Home Block looking sharp.

We’re seeking a hands-on person who thrives working in multiple operations. Experience in using and maintaining vineyard, horticultural or agricultural equipment is the main expertise we’re seeking for this varied role. The successful candidate will need to be multi-skilled and enjoy working in a varied role, that includes many aspects of looking after a small vineyard and winery.

You’ll be rewarded with the satisfaction of using existing skills and learning new skills working with our small team making some of the most exciting wines in Marlborough.

This is a permanent position. This may be a 40-hour a week job for much of the year. The flexibility to work more hours in seasonal peaks and sometimes less hours in winter would be useful.
